The Maintenance Mechanic Laborer/Yard Crew, Rodeo Refinery works independently and with other personnel to maintain and operate equipment and processes in the refinery, under the general direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.
Some of the processes involved use hazardous and volatile materials under high temperature and pressure.
Typical working conditions include outside weather and elements, blowing air, heat, noise, vibration and occasionally working from heights and confined spaces.
Laborer/Yard Crew must follow safe work practices including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
In addition, Laborers/Yard Crew perform various duties required to keep their assigned processing unit/area operating safely and at specified production/run rates.
Responsibilities May Include:
Monitoring and observing assigned area for abnormal conditions and emergency situations Working with outside contractors and agencies Participating in safety reviews Ensuring accurate and timely completion of paperwork Demonstrating awareness and commitment to safety Maintenance craft helper Fire watch Entry/Hole watch Housekeeping/clean-up Grounds keeping/grounds maintenance Forklift operation Transportation of materials (material runner to/from job site) Insulator/painter (with possibly asbestos removal) Minor carpentry and/or civil work Lead abatement General labor (setup/tear down, etc.
) Identifying and pursuing cost reduction opportunities Required
Qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions 18 years of age or older Maintain a valid driver's license High School Diploma or GED equivalent Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).

Qualifications:

years of experience in an industrial or petrochemical environment in a related role Computer proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook SAP/CMMS experience Proactive and results-oriented Able to effectively interact with all organizational levels and value diversity Demonstrated communications and teamwork skills The San Francisco Refinery processes a mixture of heavy, high sulfur and light sweet crude oil.
Facilities include crude distillation, naphtha reforming, hydrocracking, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units.
It receives California crude oil by pipeline, and both domestic and foreign crude oil by tanker.
The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels.
It also produces CARB-grade gasoline.
Other products include petroleum coke.
The majority of the refined products are distributed to California by pipeline and barge.
Additional refined products are also exported to Latin America by waterborne cargo.
In 2022, Phillips 66 made a final investment decision to move forward with Rodeo Renewed, the project to convert its San Francisco Refinery in Rodeo, California, into one of the world's largest renewable fuels facilities.
The project, which recently received approval from Contra Costa County, is expected to cost approximately $850 million and begin commercial operations in the first quarter of 2024.

Compensation The base pay for this position is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
This rate is currently $23.
56 per hour.
